Pinteresting Wednesday: Hair Styles

It's that time again!  Time for me to show you my Pinterest faves of the week by linking up with The Vintage Apple for...

Today I am sharing some of the hairstyles I've found that I just love and can't wait to try!  I hope you enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

My hair isn't thick enough to look good in a side braid.  When I saw this twist side braid I thought it would be a great alternative for those of us who have thinner hair!

Spice up your average pony with a cute, trendy knot!

Another version of  the side braid!

I'm a Texas girl, so naturally I'm drawn to BIG hair!  Our saying down here is, "The bigger your hair, the closer you are to God!"

Rachel McAdams you are so gorgeous and I would love to look like you!  Such a glamorous old Hollywood look.

Weekend Getaway

Wow!  Isn't this place gorgeous.  It looks so siren and relaxing.  Something most of us need in our busy, hectic lives.  It's called the Pedernales River State Park, and it's located right outside of Austin.  I've been looking into a place where my boyfriend and I could go and relax.  He is an engineering student and I am in nursing school, so our schedules are very crazy.  Many nights he does not come home until 12 or later because he has been studying all day, and at least 2 or more days out of the week I get up around 5:30 or early to get ready for my 6:30 clinicals.  Needless to say, we don't get to spend that much quality time together.

I started looking for a state park we could go to that had beautiful scenery.  C loves the outdoors, and I love a pretty view.  I can't say I am totally in love with being outdoors, around bugs and sweating profusely (I know nasty, I sweat a lot), but I love admiring the simple beauty God has given us.  I thought we could hike and tent camp one night to satisfy C's likings, maybe I could even get C to throw in a nice romantic picnic on our hike!  The next night I thought we could stay at a bed and breakfast to satisfy my likings.  Compromise is always good in a relationship...right?

Now I just have to find an open weekend for both of us!

I would love to know where you like to go on short weekend vacations with your honey or loved ones!

The water is so clear and blue.  It's not like many of the other rivers or lakes in Texas.

Stunning waterfalls that I cannot wait to see.

The water is so clear and blue.

Valentine's Oreo Truffles

Last night, my friend and I made some awesome Valentine's treats called Oreo Truffles! They are also known as Oreo Balls or Oreo Cake Balls. I love these treats because they are easy to make and so delicious. They are similar to cake balls, but I am not a big fan of cake balls because they are just too sweet for me. If you feel the same way, then you will probably love these little goodies!

1 Package of Oreos
1 8 oz. Package of Cream Cheese (softened)
1 1/2 Bags of White Chocolate Chips
Valentine's Sprinkles of Your Choice

1. Break up Oreos into small pieces.
2. Place in zip lock bag and use rolling pin or place in food processor to finely crush the Oreos to your liking.
3. Mix cookies and softened cream cheese together.
4. Roll mixture into 1" balls and place on cookie sheet covered with wax paper.
5. Place cookie sheet in freezer for about 15 minutes so the balls do not fall apart while rolling them in chocolate.
6. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or slowly in the microwave.
7. Roll balls in melted chocolate and let dry on wax paper.
8. Before chocolate dries add some fun sprinkles.
9. Once dry, refrigerate.

You can make a homemade double boiler by boiling water in a pot and placing a bowl on top of the pot.

Add a stick to the Oreo Truffle to make an Oreo Truffle Pop
Use a different kind of Oreo like Mint or Berry Burst Ice Cream
Drizzle a different colored chocolate on top
Use milk or dark chocolate instead of white chocolate
Sprinkle finely crushed Oreo pieces on top
Sprinkle crushed candies on top

I hope you enjoy these delightful little treats!

Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday: Valentine's Edition

Today I am going to show you some of my Valentine's Pinterest favs by linking up with Michelle for at The Vintage Apple for...

Valentine's Day is less than a week away, so I've been pinning away trying to find some great recipes to make my friends and special someone!  Along the way I also found some adorable pictures, like this heart spotted Dalmatian and an old van loaded down with Valentine's presents.  I hope this van is on its way to my house!  I hope you can check out some of the recipes, they look delicious and there is even a recipe for red wine lollipops!  I'm a wine lover so I will be trying this recipe!

Check back this week because I will be putting up a tutorial for Valentine's Oreo Truffles!  Oreo truffles are similar to cake balls, but if cake balls are a little too sweet for you I recommend trying out oreo truffles.

Have a fantastic Wednesday!

Three Wonderful Years

Today marks 3 years with my wonderful boyfriend!  Let me tell you, I am one lucky girl!  I have been blessed with such an amazing man, and hope there are many more years to come.  We have been through ups and downs, but I love him more each and every day!

I posted some quotes and a poem that I love!  I hope you enjoy!

I love this poem!  It reminds me to never keep count in my relationship because it's a recipe for disaster!  By working together, you can build a love that "lights the whole sky."

Colorful & Comfy

Here in Texas, we haven’t had much of a winter.  It has been in the 70s most days with a few cold fronts every once in a while, but the cold only sticks around for 1 or 2 days before the temperatures risk back up.
Since it feels like spring already and school is starting to stress me out, I indulged in a little retail therapy yesterday and bought a new spring outfit!
I got this cute striped shirt dress.  It’s very comfy and you can dress it down or up!  I loved it so much I even got a navy blue one!  I also picked up this colorful chevron scarf to go with it.  It’s a very light weight scarf so it can be worn during warmer times of the year.  I am hoping to get a few of these sparkly accessories and some bright funky jewelry to go along with my outfit!
