My Baby is Growing Up too Fast

It's sad to say but I think our furbaby, Gus, has hit his teenage years.

I remember the day when he loved to cuddle with me, would follow me around everywhere, and laid on the doormat and whined when I left the house.

Now, he wants nothing to do with us!  When I am laying on the couch he insist on laying in another room or on another couch.  Just this morning we tried to make him lay in bed with us, and he wasn't having it.  Colton has even gone as far as making crazy sounds to try and coax Gus into jumping on the bed or couch with us only to have him jump off 10 seconds later.  Unfortunately, I think he wants to be independent puppy.

"Mom what are you thinking?  Get off my futon!"

Maybe he needs room to stretch his legs.  Maybe 45 pounds dogs can't be "lap dogs" forever.  I'm not sure, I just know that I want my cuddle buddy back!

  1. Aw, this makes me sad for you! I hope our dog, Toby, doesn't go through this! I would be one sad chick! Maybe it will be short-lived and you will have your cuddle buddy back soon! :)

Love the pics of your pup (I have a 6 month old golden retriever). Maybe once he hits the college years he'll realize how good he had it and really appreciate you :)

  9. ahh Gus, what a sweetie!! i hated when my jack russell was growing up way beyond the puppy stage and growing up way faster than iI ever wanted him too. i think regardless of a dog's weight or age they will always try to b lap dogs whether they are the size of one or not
