Coffee Mug Swap!

I recently participated in an awesome Coffee Mug Swap at Suzels Says!  I was paired up with another blogger and we sent each other a coffee mug.  How fun is that?

I was paired up with Melissa from Perfect Peace.  She is such a sweet heart and her blog is great, y'all should check it out!  I'm in love with the vintage feel of this mug!  My Mom laughed at me when I received the mug because I don't drink coffee.  Well I told her I love to drink hot chocolate, and seriously y'all should see the coffee mugs we have to drink out of.  They are so old and not very appealing.  The cute mugs we have cannot be put in the microwave because they spark and make loud popping noises.  I think the microwave might blow up if I leave one in too long.  Melissa also sent a darling set of notepads!  I can't wait to use these wonderful gifts.  I might have to pull out the hot chocolate, even though we are having 90+ degree days here!

Check out the coffee mug I sent her here!

Friday's Letters

Oak Alley Plantation via Brad Thompson Fine Art

Dear Gus, it’s only been 6 days since I’ve seen your lovable puppy face, but I miss you dearly.  I’m dreading the day I have to send you off to hunting school.  Maybe I will accidentally forget to take you and we won’t tell daddy!  Dear boyfriend, I’m so happy I’ve had the chance to help you get settled in to this new place you will call home for the next 3 months.  I’ve been a little bored at the apartment by myself because I’m too scared to explore a foreign city alone, but I’m happy it’s the weekend and we can explore together tomorrow!  I’m also sad that I will be leaving you on Sunday, but I plan on visiting often, and I hope this time apart will draw us even closer.  Dear Julie Lessman, I thoroughly enjoyed your book A Hope Undaunted.  This is such a huge compliment because I am not a reader, especially not a 500 page book reader.  I can’t wait to read more about the O’Conner family in your series, the Daughters of Boston.  Dear Louisiana, you are very different than your neighbor I like to call home, Texas, but you are a very fun state.  I was astonished when I saw that you could buy liquor in the grocery store at all hours of the day and night.  I also adore the beautiful architecture found in the Garden District of New Orleans, and I can’t wait to visit the gorgeous plantation homes.  Dear Nursing School, do I really have to start back to class already?  At least it’s only one class, one day a week.

Have a safe and fantastically fun Memorial Day Weekend!

Pinteresting Wednesday: Dream Wedding

No, there is not a wedding in the future for me yet, but a girl can still dream!  I feel that I'm allowed to pin tons of stuff to my wedding Pinterest board because then when that time does come along, I will be somewhat prepared.  I like to plan, I'm a perfectionist, and I love to craft which in turn saves me some money which is always a huge plus for me!  Crafting saves me money, but it never saves me time, so that's why I'm planning way ahead of time :)

The theme of my wedding will be Rustic Charm!  I want tons of burlap, wood accents, lace, and touches of sparkle.  I want it to be an intimate occasion with love and thought poured into each and every detail.

This is a board full of some of my Pinterest inspirations I've but together for The Vintage Apple's Pinteresting Wednesday.  You can find these pictures and more here.

5 Summer Goals

I'm so sorry I've been MIA of late, but I happy to say I'm back!!  With finals and moving my boyfriend to Louisiana, my life has been very hectic.  I'm happy to say I've survived my first year of nursing school, and I cannot wait to finish my second.  I'm sad to say that in about a week I'm sending my baby boy Gus off to hunting school.  Losing both of my boys this summer is going to be hard, but I know they will come back better men!

Since my summer has officially started, I wanted to leave y'all with 5 of my goals for this summer.  I hope y'all will help keep me accountable for these goals!

What are your goals or accomplishments you wish to achieve this summer?

Fit for a Queen

Some of my favorite styles from the online boutique!

One of my favorite places to shop in my hometown is a fabulous boutique called Southern Jewlz!  Every time I go in there I am greeted with a fun loving atmosphere, decked out with lots of pink, sparkle (the floors are even glittered!), and the cutest clothes and jewlz around.  SJ is the perfect place to get all dolled up for any occasion, big or small.

Today and tomorrow they are having a Re Grand Opening at their new location!  It is going to be an amazing time, with free makeovers, Miranda Lambert wine tastings, a photo booth, and 15% off your purchase when you check in on Facebook!  I can't wait to stop by there tomorrow and join in on the fun.  If you aren't in the area check out their online store here!

Randa Yezak is the owner of SJ and such and inspiring young woman.  She has built this boutique from the ground up and has done a fantastic job. She is such an inspiration to all girls out there to follow their dreams.  Even if it seems difficult and tough, she has shown us that it is possible!  Not only has she created a successful business, she's made sure to stay true to yourself and let her beautiful, fun personality shine through.

Randa was sweet enough to answer a few questions about owning her own business and fashion!  I hope y'all enjoy and check out her fabulous boutiques here.

1. What would you say to other girls wanting to open up a boutique or their own business?

"Start off small and take slow gradual growing steps.  This way you learn every bit of the way and appreciate the journey.  Understand it is going to take a lot of time, hard work, energy, dedication and enthusiasm to make it happen.  Stay true to yourself, your supporters and never become complacent."

2. What's your favorite spring/summer trend?

"This Spring/Summer we are seeing lots of bright colors - specifically yellow!  And my favorite hot Spring/Summer print is the tribal/native print!"

3. What's your go to fashion piece?

"My go-to fashion piece is a long beaded turquoise necklace.  It literally matches almost everything in my closet and instantly adds some color and fun to my outfit!"

4. Where do you get inspiration for the clothing pieces you buy for SJ?

"I travel to fashion markets across the country 5-6 times a year.  Attending this many markets and doing a lot of up and coming fashion trend research allows me to stay in-the-know and provide it to my clients.  I also strive to get to know a lot of my customers and their style, so this helps me to know what I can incorporate into the SJ collection!"
