Fun Layers

DRESS: Southern Jewlz (similar here and here) | VEST: Boutique (similar and love this) | BOOTIES: Target (similar) | EARRINGS: Sookie Sookie (similar) | SUNGLASSES: Old

Finally an outfit that doesn't include the color pink, ha!  By my outfit posts you wouldn't know it, but my favorite color is actually turquoise.  This is an old dress from one of my favorite local boutiques Southern Jewlz!  I love the flared sleeves that give this dress a 70's vibe!  As we tradition into spring, the thing I miss most about fall/winter clothes is all the layers.  So for spring I always to try go for light layers.  This vest works perfectly for that, and the high low hem really helps to elongate my legs!

I'm headed to Louisianna this weekend to see the boy.  I'm hoping it doesn't rain all weekend so I can get outside and plant some pretty flowers around his house! What do y'all have planned this weekend?

Spring Florals

BLAZER: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | TOP: Vestique (same top and similar) | JEANS: J Brand | SHOES: Gianni Bini | CLUTCH: Charming Charlie | EARRINGS: Kendra Scott | SUNGLASSES: Target

Florals are taking over my closet this spring. I just can't get enough of them!  Especially with all the gloomy weather we've been having, paired with some bright colors, they really make my day pop!  I love this top from Vestique.  It has a cute floral print, with multiple colors but it's on a white background. Neutrals are in this spring. Another option would be to pair this top with white pants and you would have a semi neutral outfit without losing color all together.  In my opinion color just makes me feel and look brighter!

This top is sold out at Vestique right now, but I've seen it scrolling through IG on some other boutique pages. I would check your favorite boutiques and see if they have it!

Are you craving florals this spring?

Ch-Ch-Check it Out

DRESS: Old Navy Kids (similar) | SHIRT: Old Navy (similar) | VEST: Old Navy (similar here and here) BOOTIES: LC Lauren Conrad (similar here and here)

The rain is so calming and soothing for me.  There is nothing better than cuddling with your puppy and listening to the rain drops hit your windows.  I think I would love to live in Seattle or a rainy city.  I even don't mind tromping around in it.  Now cleaning up your filthy, muddy dog isn't too much fun but not many things in life come without some sort of bad side effect, right!  It doesn't rain too much here, so when it does I definitely soak it in.  It rained all day long on Monday of this week (almost 5 inches!) and it stopped just long enough for me to get a few pictures in!

I just love Old Navy!  I have to admit they are hit or miss sometimes, but a lot of the times they have great items at a great price.  After finding this vest in a larger size in the store last year, I searched for months on Poshmark for my size.  I finally found it and it has to be one of the most worn pieces in my closet.  It is very light weight which makes it great for layering in Texas.

I got the denim dress in the girls section at Old Navy.  The kids section has been one of my new favorite money saving strategies.  I got my ski jacket in a kids xl for almost $100 cheaper than an adult size jacket!  Yes, it isn't as fitted as a woman's jacket but ski jackets are pretty bulky anyways.

For this dress, I added a checked flannel shirt underneath and a pink quilted vest for some color!  Obviously I have a serious pink crush lately, and I can't wait to add more bright colors to my closet for spring!

Thanks for stopping by and happy FriYay!!

Work it Out

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

Y'all this fleece pull over is amazing!  It has been on repeat this past month and has served so many purposes.  It's super comfy to throw on to run errands, it keeps me warm while running outside in the colder weather, and I even layered it under my ski jacket this past week.  I have recreated this look in a more radiant orchid type color scheme since my purple fleece and Nike's are sold out.

I have heard great things about Victoria's Secret Sports Bra's.  My friends who are more well endowed say they give great support and keep their girls in place!  I have been wanting to buy one, and the secret to getting them a little cheaper is to wait until you have a $10 off a bra coupon.  VS sends them out pretty regularly.  The top is also from VS and I'm loving the open back!

My workout leggings are from Old Navy but most sizes are sold out so I linked a similar pair.  There are sizes still left in a higher rise version of these leggings at Old Navy though.

Now if I could actually get my butt in gear and head to the gym a little more often!!

Pink on Pink

JACKET: Old (similar) | SWEATER: Forever 21 | PANTS: JCrew Factory | BOOTS: Gianni Bini (old) | GLOVES: Stein Mart (old)
This is my second outfit from our last trip to Colorado!  This sweater has been one of my favorite purchases this winter.  It is a little oversized but does not overwhelm a smaller body frame.  It is still available at Forever 21, is only $20, and comes in a few different colors!
We are about to headed out skiing today.  You will definitely only find me on the greens!  I'm so not adventurous when it comes to skiing.  Hopefully I can stay warm in this cold weather.

Sparkle & Snow

JACKET: Charming Charlie (similar) | TOP: Borrowed | CLUTCH: Express (similar here and here) | BOOTIES: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's | NECKLACE: Boutique

At the beginning of this year we jetted off to Colorado to help celebrate one of my best friends getting married!  It was a pretty short trip filled with fun wedding festivities so we decided not to ski.  I was a little bummed at first, but on our one free day we decided to hang out in the lodge by the fire and enjoy watching the snow fall outside, and it was a blast just to step back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery!  We stayed in Keystone's River Run and really loved being so close to the mountains and the cute ski village.

I wore this outfit to the rehearsal dinner the first night we were there.  I actually stole this top out of my mom's closet!  I loved the shimmer and sparkle on the sweater plus the oversized fit made it super comfy.  For a Texas girl, it was hard to find cute outfit options that kept me semi warm!

I am actually headed back to Keystone today with my family, and I can't wait to see the snow again.  Wish me luck on the slopes!
